FIFA 23 Ones to Watch is set to be the first major Ultimate Team promotion of this season, celebrating the most exciting moves of the summer transfer window. Here’s how FIFA 23 OTW will work, as well as the players likely to feature.

Ones to Watch is always one of the most interesting and exciting promotions in all of FIFA, mainly because it’s usually the very first major event of the year. FIFA 23 will be no exception, as EA looks to shine the spotlight on the biggest transfers of the summer.

FIFA 22 OTW was arguably the greatest of all time as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo switched clubs in a crazy end to the transfer window. While FIFA 23 OTW is unlikely to have so many breakthrough signings to choose from, some of the game’s highest rated players have been on the move.

Here’s everything you need to know about FIFA 23 Ones to Watch, from how the cards work to the players we expect to see.

Is there a FIFA 23 Ones to Watch start date?

EA have yet to confirm the launch of FIFA 23 Ones to Watch, but we can look back to previous years to get a pretty good idea.

Last year, OTW kicked off on October 1st, the same day as the global release of FIFA 22. With that in mind, we expect FIFA 23 OTW to start on Friday, September 30, 2022.

This is the expected release date of FIFA 23 based on various leaks and the usual schedule, but we will add new information to this section once it becomes available.

FIFA 23 Ones to Watch explained

To Watch Team 2 FIFA 22

FIFA 23 OTW will award special live cards to players who have recently joined a new club. These dynamic items will increase in ranking based on the player’s performance for his club in real life.

Each time an OTW star receives a TOTW after a better display in their home league, the card’s rating and stats will increase to match the most recent.

For example, in FIFA 22, Dayot Upamecano started with an 82-rated card after moving to Bayern Munich. But, by the end of the year, he was rated 87 and one of the best centre-backs the Bundesliga had to offer.

They will also receive an additional +1 bonus for winning a certain number of matches after the promotion has started. Last year, the threshold was five wins out of 10 games after October 2.

We’ll update this section with more specific information once EA officially announces the promotion.
