Celtic to complete free transfer in January confirmed

Everything seems to be going Celtic’s way at the moment. The club scored two late goals through Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada to win against Dundee United when it looked like the draw was doomed. The result proved very important as Rangers then lost 2-1 away at St Johnstone, meaning Ange Postecoglou’s men now lead Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side by seven points.

So no matter what happens in the future, Celtic are guaranteed to enter the World Cup break as Premiership leaders. And there seems to be more good news on the horizon for Postecoglou and company as well.

Recently, rumors broke that Celtic had agreed a deal with Vissel Kobe to sign the young Japanese international defender, Yuki Kobayashi, in January. But now it looks like not only will the Hoops sign the 22-year-old, it will also be a free transfer, with his deal running out at the end of the season.

A report of Nikkan Sports continues by reading:

With the contract expiring, DF Yuki Kobayashi (22) has been confirmed to move to Celtic completely free of a transfer fee.

Celtic are set to complete the free transfer in January in what could prove to be another transfer masterstroke

Celtic have signed four J1 League players since Postecoglou took over as manager – Kyogo, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi.

Kyogo, Hatate and Maeda have proven themselves as first-team regulars, and the only move that hasn’t worked is Ideguchi’s. Now, it looks like Kobayashi’s name will soon be added to that list.

Kobayashi is a left-footed centre-back, which would give Postecoglou the chance to have a combination with Cameron Carter-Vickers at the heart of defense and open up the field more. The youngster has an impressive passing range, is a good player of the game, good in the air and not afraid to throw in a strong tackle.
