Martin Lewis has told families and people in difficulty how they can claim £175 free by switching bank accounts. The MoneySavingExpert said HSBC offered the money and switching was not complicated.
To claim the gift, open an HSBC Advance account and start switching within 30 days. Account holders will need to pay at least £1,500 within 60 days and switch between two or more direct debits or standing orders to receive the money.

Once you have done this and HSBC has checked the customers’ eligibility, they will receive the money within 30 days. But applicants must not have an HSBC current account or have opened a First Direct current account since January 1, 2019.
Tom Wolfenden, head of retail at HSBC UK, said: “Our popular switch offer is back and, for a limited time, exclusively for those who apply through MoneySupermarket and MoneySavingExpert, customers who transfer their current account to us will receive £175 in cash.
“With the cost of living seemingly increasing every week, the cash benefits of these offers could be welcome.”
