Overwatch 2 free to play – will Blizzard’s FPS cost money?
Overwatch 2 is finally coming to an end six years after the release of the original. The series is packed with unique characters and maps, and has some of the best personalities in any multiplayer game. If you don’t believe me, you must not have snagged Reinhardt as Roadhog, unloaded your ultimate into his shield, then spammed the laugh emote.
While this explains the inordinate number of bans I’ve had, it doesn’t answer the important questions, like if Overwatch 2 is free or not. This might seem like an odd question given that the first game was a full-priced game, but recent leaks have indicated that Blizzard may be moving towards an F2P live service model.
So read below to find out everything we know about whether you’ll have to shell out the cash to pay for Overwatch 2 when it releases. We’ll keep the guide up to date with all the latest information, so bookmark it and be sure to come back.
Overwatch 2 free to play
Overwatch 2 could be free. Although it has not yet been confirmed by Blizzard, a recent data mine leaked the presence of an Overwatch 2 battle pass in the game code. This could mean that players pay for the battle pass but not for the game, as is the case with other live service titles like Call of Duty Warzone.
