Online registration is already underway and the event runs from 7am to 10am.

Sponsors include Gomez Trial Attorneys, New Seasons Church, Nu Way Ministries, St. Stephens Church of God in Christ, and Bethel Baptist Church.

Harris said he organized the “Gas Me Up” events “to make sure low-income and working-class families have a little support at the pump” amid rapidly rising oil prices. gasoline.

He said sponsors expect to be able to provide fuel for 300 vehicles on Wednesday.

Drivers who have signed up should go to the parking lot behind the Black Angus Steakhouse at 707 E Street and will then be directed to a nearby Arco station.

The Harris’ People’s Association of Justice Advocates is a national civil rights and human rights organization with offices in Washington and San Diego.
