Toys for Tots partner Nickel Plate Express to offer free caboose rides – Hamilton County Reporter

With the holiday season fast approaching, Nickel Plate Express (NPX) and Toys for Tots have teamed up to collect toys for families in need this season.

To kick off the toy drive, NPX will be giving away a free caboose ride on Saturday, November 5 to every passenger who brings a donation. Caboose rides will board from noon to 2 p.m. from the newly renovated Hobbs Station located inside Forest Park on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets will be sold for this event. Passengers will enjoy a scenic ride on historic Monon Caboose above the White River in downtown Noblesville.

“Toys for Tots is thrilled to partner with Nickel Plate Express for the 2022 holiday season,” said Sabrina Young, Civilian Coordinator for Toys for Tots. “This year marks the 75th year of Toys for Tots. We are so thrilled to be able to partner with an organization that has a beautiful train and draws huge crowds every holiday season. It matched our iconic Toys for Tots train logo perfectly.

NPX will be accepting new, unboxed toys for Toys for Tots through December 23. In addition to the caboose rides offered, NPX will be offering a visit with Santa on Thursday, December 15 from 6-8 p.m. The public is encouraged to bring a toy to donate and then visit Santa Claus.

NPX Director Emily Reynolds said, “I’ve always been passionate about giving back to the community. This opportunity to work with Toys for Tots is a perfect opportunity for Nickel Plate Express to help others this holiday season.
